Site - Elk City
Using a classroom generously provided by the Great Plains Regional Medical Center, the Department of Nursing Education expanded north to Elk City, during the summer of 2005. In the first year, there were 18 students attending the Elk City campus.
During the summer of 2009, the home health agency, with whom the Department of Nursing has been sharing the building, moved to a new location. This allowed for an expantion of the skills lab, as well as the addition of more students.
In 2013 through the support of Great Plains Regional Medical Center, the nursing division was able to move to the Pat Wall Professional located directly to the south of the hospital. The campus space consists of two classrooms, a computer lab, a student break room, and offices for three full-time employees. The clinical lab is located within the hospital. This allows students the ability to practice in a more realistic hospital setting. The WOSC Nursing Department maintains its valued relationship with GPRMC.
