Mission:
Western's Early Childhood/Child Development program is committed to providing quality education to the students for the ultimate goal of quality early care for young children, their families, and the community.
Programs:
- Associate in Science with emphasis in Early Childhood [06600]
- MAPS - Early Childhood Suggested Degree Plan Course Sequence
- Graduates wishing to earn their bachelor's degree will need to continue their studies at a four-year institution in the area of Family Consumer Sciences, and will have all the pre-requisites complete for third and fourth year classes.
- Associate in Science with emphasis in Infants and Toddlers [07200]

- MAPS - Infants and Toddlers Suggested Degree Plan Course Sequence
- Associate in Applied Science with emphasis in Child Development [01000]
- MAPS - Child Development Suggested Degree Plan Course Sequence
- Graduates are prepared for immediate employment opportunities in Head Start programs, child care centers, family child care homes, church-related child care, and as teacher assistants in the public schools.
* The Associate in Science in Early Childhood and Associate in Science in Applied Science in Child Development are accredited by the NAEYC Commission on Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation.
- Child Development Assistant Certificate [05300]
- Students completing the Certificate are prepared for employment opportunities in child care centers, family child care homes, church-related, and other similar child care programs.
