The progress includes improved graduates' success on the NCLEX-RN Examiniation, continued improvements in the systamtic evaluation plan, and in continued improvements to curriculum and educational offerings. The extention of the probationary status allows the faculty and staff to make further improvements in areas of curriculum and teaching. Please note the progression of the probationary status:
- The Western Oklahoma State College nursing program was placed on probation by the NLN CNEA in February 2023 for deficiencies regarding the systematic evaluation plan, NCLEX-RN first-time pass rates, graduate employment rates, and faculty educational concerns.
- As of June 21, 2023, the NLN CNEA added quality improvement conditions to the existing probationary status.
- Update to accreditation status (February 2024). The NLN CNEA Board of Commissioners met on February 14-15, 2024 and extended the probationary status for the Associate Degree in Nursing Program with Pre-licensure and LPN-AD Tracks (delivered via distance education) at Western Oklahoma State College, Altus, OK for a period of one year (February 2024 – February 2025).
