Career Readiness Certificate

The Career Readiness Certificate micro-credential is a non-credit bearing credential. Learners will participate in the Workforce Readiness Summit and Career Fair and take the associated assessment after the completion of the event. The following courses/breakout sessions will be part of this credential: Strategies for Success, Career Pathways, and Career Exploration.

The Strategies for Success session includes training on interview skills, resume writing, appropriate work attire, and communications skills. The Career Pathway session includes training on numerous careers and the associated education needed for careers. Individuals will be able to select the career cluster of interest. Instructors will explain how to scaffold their education through stackable credentials. The Career Exploration session includes an opportunity for learning to speak with workforce partners from their career pathway of choice. This will be done through a guided career fair. Student leaders will help guide learners to provide interactions that are more meaningful. Learner will also participate in an Employer Panel where specific topics will be discussed, as well as a question and answer time. At the conclusion of the training event, students will be given an assessment in the form of a short exam to evaluate the knowledge gained.
