Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has reappointed Debbie Cox to the Western Oklahoma State College Board of Regents. Cox, who has served with distinction since her initial appointment on April 23, 2019, continues to demonstrate her unwavering commitment to higher education and the success of Western Oklahoma State College.
Debbie Cox was first appointed to the Board of Regents by then-Governor Mary Fallin, filling Position Number 4, previously held by Dustin Lively. Her reappointment by Governor Stitt for a second term is a testament to her exceptional leadership and dedication to the institution.
“Debbie Cox and her family have been invested in Altus and southwest Oklahoma for over a century. We are so fortunate to have someone with that kind of history and a true passion for her community serving on our board,” said Dr. Chad Wiginton, WOSC President.
Throughout her service, Cox has held several key leadership positions on the Board. She served as Secretary from 2020 to 2021, Vice Chair from 2021 to 2022, and Chair from 2022 to 2023. Her extensive experience and contributions have been instrumental in guiding the Board's efforts to advance the college's mission and vision.
